Learning Village is the result of a unique partnership between Houghton Mifflin and Microsoft. The two industry giants formed a strategic alliance in 2007, aimed at delivering curricula and content in a unified, personalized and education-relevant Web environment for hundreds of thousands of K–12 teachers, students, administrators and parents.
Through the partnership, school districts can take advantage of Microsoft’s proven technology in a secure, scalable, standards-based solution that is easy to use. Learning Village is built on the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 and utilizes Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007 and Microsoft Learning Gateway.
Combining the strengths of both Houghton Mifflin and Microsoft, Learning Village is a Web-based collaboration, communications and content delivery framework that can be tailored to the needs of a school district.
