Concetta M Duval, Ed.D., began her career as a chemical engineer for Sprague Electric Company in North Adams, MA. She later moved to public education, teaching math and science at the high school level for 12 years. Dr. Duval subsequently joined the Brighton School District in Rochester, NY., where she served as the Director of Mathematics and Science, with responsibility for supervising a team of 23 math and science teachers. In addition to her long tenure in public education, she also has an extensive educational software background, and has held senior product development positions at Wasatch Education Systems in Salt Lake City, UT, and at Jostens Learning Company in San Diego, CA.
Dr. Duval holds a BA in Biology and Chemistry from University of Rochester, and an M.A. and Ed.D. in Curriculum Instruction and Administration and Mathematics Education, also from University of Rochester. She has spoken widely at many regional and national conferences, and currently leads a consulting practice focused on the creation of student and teacher instructional materials, with an emphasis in mathematics.
