Destination Math Grades 6-8
Destination Math prepares students for the more formal study of mathematics in high school. Students continue their course of study of numbers and operations by exploring ratios, proportions and irrational numbers. They also begin a study of fundamental skills found in algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. Students apply what they have learned to solve sets of questions at varying levels of difficulty.
Destination Math Grades 7-12
Destination Math focuses on the symbols and rules of algebra and how they are used to represent relationships. Students use these concepts to solve linear equations in one variable, and apply these skills to real-life problems. Students then progress by graphing linear functions and systems.
More advanced lessons investigate polynomial expressions and operations in problems that arise from real-life situations. Students refine and expand their skills through interactions, practice problems, and workout questions. Following analytic investigation, students use a variety of techniques to solve equations in one variable, including applying the quadratic formula.
